Popular Hawaii Gelato Shop Expands to Kakaako

Via Gelato - 1024x683

Local gelato shop Via Gelato has expanded to Kakaako with its second location in Howard Hughes Corp.’s 60-acre Ward Village.

Via Gelato was founded by Melissa Bow in 2011, and began as a food truck. It opened its first location in Kaimuki in 2014 in a space formerly occupied by Covenant Books and Coffee.

“We love the walkable community that Ward Village has created,” Bow said. “This laid back lifestyle fits perfectly with who we are as a close-knit company, and we’re eager to serve this growing neighborhood.”

The store makes 16 to 20 flavors every day, such as guava rose, apple pie a la mode and cucumber mint.
