‘Iron Chef’ Morimoto to Open Two Restaurants, Beer Garden this December in Renovated Waikiki Hotel

The Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach, previously the Pacific Beach Hotel, will open this December after a $115 million renovation and rebranding, bringing with it two new restaurants and a beer garden by Japanese chef Masaharu Morimoto.

The 839-room hotel will now be the only Oahu site for Morimoto, who is known from the Japanese cooking show “Iron Chef,” which airs on the Food Network and Cooking Channel in the U.S.

The Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach, previously the Pacific Beach Hotel, will open this December after a $115 million renovation and rebranding.

Morimoto closed his first Oahu restaurant at The Modern Honolulu hotel in December.

The first new restaurant will be located in the former 24 Hour Fitness space on the second floor and will be called Morimoto Asia.

Pacific Business News has reached out to the hotel regarding details for the remaining two F&B venues.

Island Club and Spa, a fitness club that opened in 2013 at the Koolani condominium complex in Kakaako, will open a 6,000-square-foot facility in the new hotel this year. It will have two full-size tennis courts, training turf and an equipment room overlooking the hotel’s 280,000-gallon saltwater aquarium.
