Agu Ramen Opens Popup in Former Iyo Udon Space at Ala Moana Center

 

 

Hawaii-based Agu Ramen will test a self-service format in a new popup restaurant located in the former Iyo Udon space at Ala Moana Center.

The popular eatery, which first opened on Oahu in 2013, will offer a limited menu featuring popular dishes, including udon dishes from the now-closed Iyo Udon. The restaurant is piloting the new format as it expands to Texas with 21 new locations.

“We wanted to try something quick and easy for those who are on a tight schedule,” owner Hisashi Uehara said in a statement. “This format works well in Texas for ramen, and so we wanted to see how it works for a location such as Ala Moana that witnesses shoppers, retail employees, and businesspeople who need a quick bite.”
